Thurston County, WA Arrests & Jail Records

The Records and Public Disclosure Section of the Thurston County Sheriff's Office processes arrest record requests within five business days. You may contact the Section at (360) 596-5155 or submit your request online through the Records Request Center.

Thurston County police departments accept arrest record requests online, by mail, or in person. Interested parties can submit their requests through the public record request portal available on the arresting Police Department's website or directly at the department's front desk. The cost for physical and printed copies is $0.15 per page, while records scanned into an electronic format cost $0.10 per copy. Here are some of the police departments in Thurston County:

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) provides Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) to the public for non-criminal purposes and grants unrestricted CHRI to certified criminal justice agencies for criminal investigations. You can obtain CHRI by submitting a full set of fingerprints or conducting a background check using a name and date of birth.

For fingerprint services, visit the Identification and Background Check Section at the Olympia Office, located at 106 11th Ave SW, Suite 1300, Olympia, WA 98501, with a valid ID during office hours.

Additionally, for an $11 fee, payable by credit or debit card, you can run a background check online through the Washington Access to Criminal History (WATCH) system and receive immediate results.

To obtain a conviction CHRI based on an individual's name and birthdate, submit a completed Request for Conviction Criminal History Form along with a $32 fee (payable by checks or money order). Also, you may submit the completed form, a full set of fingerprints, and a $58 fee to:

For your personal use, you may obtain a non-conviction CHRI by sending a fingerprint card and a $12 fee to Washington State Patrol, Identification and Background Check Section, PO Box 42633, Olympia, WA 98504-2633.

Thurston County residents may obtain arrest records from criminal cases heard in the county's Superior, District, or Municipal Courts. The Thurston County Clerk allows the public to request copies of Superior Court criminal cases by mail, email, or in person. Also, the Clerk charges the following fees for providing copies:

• $0.50 per page for non-certified hard copies
• $0.25 per page for electronic copies
• $5 for the first page of a certified copy and $1 per additional page

Alternatively, criminal court records can be searched by title or case number on the Odyssey Portal.

The Thurston District Court provides certified copies of criminal case documents for $5 per document. Requests can be made online or in person by submitting the Court Records Request Form.
