Stafford County, VA Arrests & Jail Records

How To Search Stafford County Arrest Records?

Stafford County law enforcers are responsible for about 5,000 of the over 210,000 annual arrests witnessed in Virginia. Arrest records, including the detainee's name, charges, and date of arrest, are open to the public under the state's Freedom of Information Act. This means that members of the public can look up these records online or submit formal requests to get paper copies.

However, public access to arrest records of sealed, expunged, and juvenile cases remains confidential. Other restricted documents related to active cases and victim identities are available only to the Stafford Commonwealth's Attorney and approved agencies. Requesters may need to provide valid identification and processing fees to obtain copies of their arrest records.
