The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation also provides fingerprint-based background checks, commonly used for licensing and employment purposes. This service costs $37.15 and begins with the applicant obtaining an Originating Agency Identification (ORI) number from the employer. The applicant must then schedule a fingerprinting appointment through the IdentoGO website for Tennessee. During the appointment, a valid ID must be presented and the required fee paid. Once processed, the fingerprint results are sent directly to the employer.
