How to Search Atlantic County Arrest Records?

Atlantic County records about 1,700 arrests out of the approximate 29,000 arrests per year in New Jersey. Per the Open Public Records Act (OPRA), members of the public may request to view records created by public agencies at all levels — state and local government. As a result, the public do not have to indicate reasons for requesting open public records. Requests may be submitted online or in writing.

Due to strict legal provisions, specific records are withheld from public access to maintain their privacy. These include medical history information, child abuse allegations, criminal investigations, and juvenile records. On the other hand, specific entities such as the police, the Sheriff, the Judiciary, and the Prosecutor's Office have access to records that are not open to the public.
